Heather McNabb helps burned out nurses with rosacea heal from the inside out, so they can overcome painful flares, enjoy clear skin, and feel greater ease, energy and confidence. After years struggling with her own rosacea, she discovered the way to heal her skin naturally. Seeing other nurses struggling with stress, burnout, and overwhelm led her to become a health and wellness coach in order to help others do the same. She lives in North Texas, USA with her fiancee and three dogs.
I had mostly clear skin for a long time, until one day in my mid-thirties all of a sudden I began having redness and what looked like a rash all over my face. I’ve always had sensitive skin, so I just thought I had been in contact with something my skin didn’t like. Boy, was I wrong.
I tried different soothing facial creams, changing all of my detergents to free and clear, and watching everything I ate to see if it was a weird food allergy. It finally got so bad, and was so persistent, that I went to a dermatologist. He took one look at me, handed me a prescription for a compounded facial cream and doxycycline, and said, you have rosacea. Call me if it gets worse. I had so many questions, and he didn’t even take the time to explain my diagnosis to me. I felt so lost!
So, like anyone would, I took to the internet. I researched rosacea and how to handle it conventionally. I went down so many rabbit holes, but finally found that there was a link between rosacea, stress, and other emotions. I hadn’t even thought about how much the heavy stress load I was under could affect me…I was overwhelmed and burned out at work and in my personal life, and my body was taking the hit. I began working on both my rosacea and how I handled the emotional/stress side of things, and found the keys to healing it all!
Now, my skin is in better shape than when I was in my twenties! I only have the very occasional flare of a couple of small red spots around my eyes to let me know that I need to take things back down a notch. I feel ready to handle whatever comes my way. I have never felt more calm and centered in my life.
